Data Update | Housing Tenure Data

10 July 2018

The latest 2018, Housing Tenure data for Fife is now available on the KnowFife Dataset.

The data is collected and provided by Fife Council's Tenure Database and is available from datazone upwards.

This data includes the number and percentage (%) of the various types of housing tenure within Fife. These include, households which are owner occupied, social or private rental or even second homes.

Within Fife there are 176,394 households, an increase of just below 0.5% since 2017 (175,633). Although the majority of Fife's households are Owner Occupied, the proportion has dropped by 1.4% in the last year. Most tenure types have remained around the same in recent years with Rented Other Social Landlord and Rented Private Landlord now settled after the substantial increase earlier in the decade.

Data is available back to 2005 and can be obtained through the data picker. To view a table containing the 2015-2018 figures referred to above for Fife's Area Committees for all tenure types, please see the data table here.

The quick profile can also be used to look at individual geographies with a Fife comparison, use this link and change the geography to suit your specification to see the latest Housing Tenure figures.

Note: the data is only available for comparison at Fife level, not Scotland.
